September 7 Governance Committee meeting/work session

A work session for the Candidates for Millcreek’s new city government is set for Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Holladay City Hall, Council Meeting Room (4580 South 2300 East).

The meeting will be conducted by Mayoral Candidate Jeff Silvestrini and by Candidates for the Millcreek City Council (Diane Angus and Silvia Catten for District 1, Dwight Marchant and Dwayne Vance for District 2, Jem Keller and Cheri Jackson for District 3, and Seraya Amirthalingam and Bev Uipi for District 4).

The Candidates will invite Governance Committee volunteers up to the front as questions are raised. After an initial conversation on each topic there will be a public comment period (no more than 2 minutes per speaker) prior to giving direction on a given item.


  1. City administrative powers (City Manager or full time Mayor with Administrator)
  2. Candidates’ interest in exploring a privatization model for management of the City
  3. Proceedings of negotiations with the County
  4. Proceeding of Mayor-specific items from the statute
  5. Salt Lake County ordinance (2.92.100) about moratorium for land use/applications
  6. Educational needs of the candidates
  7. Adjourn

600-plus Attend the Meet the Mayoral Candidates Event

The Millcreek Township Council’s Meet the Mayoral Candidates Event was wildly successful.  So many people came that the event was moved to Wasatch Jr. High’s auditorium to accommodate the audience.  Thank you, Millcreek residents, for being so active and interested in our new city.

Jeff Silvestrini will be at a “Meet the Candidates” event

together with eight other candidates running for Mayor of Millcreek

Tuesday, May 24th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Wasatch Jr. High.


Two other events are scheduled for candidates for the four City Council seats up for election.

Wednesday, May 18th – 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Millcreek Elementary School.

A total of 10 candidates, five for City Council District 1 seat and five for City Council District 2 seat, will be available at this event.

Thursday, May 26th, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m at Wasatch Jr. High

A total of 16 candidates, eight for City Council District 3 seat and eight for City Council District 4 seat, will be available at this event.

Campaign Kickoff at Granato’s Huge Success!

With thanks to all you supporters out there, and a big shout-out to Sam Granato, our Jeff4Millcreek kickoff event at Granato’s on March 2nd was a huge success.  Experienced campaigners told us they’d never seen such a large turnout for the first event of a campaign.  People from all parts of Millcreek attended to hear Jeff explain his vision for our new city, and why he is the best candidate in the race.  His passion was evident in his remarks.
